What is Shulebora?
Shulebora is Kenya's most complete school management system, supporting CBE and 8-4-4 curricula from PP1 to Grade 12. It includes 40+ modules covering student management, fee collection with M-Pesa, CBE assessments, attendance tracking, parent notifications via SMS and WhatsApp, staff payroll, library management, and much more.
How much does Shulebora cost?
Shulebora pricing is based on school type: Pre-Primary schools pay Ksh 499 per month, Primary schools pay Ksh 999 per month, Junior Secondary schools pay Ksh 1,499 per month, Senior Secondary schools pay Ksh 2,449 per month, and Mixed/All-through schools pay Ksh 3,449 per month. All schools pay a one-time onboarding fee and get a 7-day free trial.
Does Shulebora support CBE?
Yes. Shulebora fully supports Kenya's Competency Based Education (CBE) curriculum with strand-based assessment, EE/ME/AE/BE performance levels, CAT tracking, KPSEA and KJSEA registration, and CBE-format learner progress reports.
Does Shulebora work with M-Pesa?
Yes. Shulebora supports M-Pesa fee payments. Parents can pay via M-Pesa Paybill and receipts are automatically generated. The system also sends automatic payment confirmation SMS to parents via TalkSasa.
What school levels does Shulebora support?
Shulebora supports all Kenyan school levels: PP1 and PP2 (Pre-Primary), Grade 1-6 (Primary), Grade 7-9 (Junior Secondary), Grade 10-12 (Senior Secondary CBE), Standard 1-8 (8-4-4 Primary) and Form 1-3 (8-4-4 Secondary).
Does Shulebora work offline?
Yes. Shulebora is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that works offline on 2G and 3G connections. Teachers can mark attendance and enter scores offline and the data automatically syncs when internet is restored.
What is KEMIS and does Shulebora support it?
KEMIS (Kenya Education Management Information System) replaced NEMIS in January 2026 as Kenya's official education data system. Shulebora supports KEMIS by storing each learner's Unique Learner Identifier (ULI) and generating KEMIS-compatible data exports with one click.
How many staff roles does Shulebora have?
Shulebora has 12 distinct staff roles: Head of Institution (HOI), Deputy HOI, Director of Studies (DOS), Bursar, Secretary, Head of Department (HOD), Class Teacher, Subject Teacher, Teacher on Duty, Librarian, Matron, and Prefect. Each role has specific permissions and a dedicated dashboard.
Does Shulebora support boarding schools?
Yes. Shulebora fully supports boarding schools with separate boarding and day scholar fee structures, matron dashboard, boarding student management, evening attendance marking, and boarding-specific gate pass tracking.
How do parents access Shulebora?
Parents access Shulebora through the parent portal at shulebora.app. They can view their child's results, attendance, fee balance, gate pass history, and announcements. Parents receive automatic SMS and WhatsApp notifications for important events like fee payments and when their child exits school.
Is Shulebora secure?
Yes. Shulebora uses row-level security so each school can only access their own data. All data is encrypted, access is role-based, and the system maintains a full audit log of all sensitive operations.
How is Shulebora different from Zeraki?
While Zeraki focuses primarily on exam analysis, Shulebora is a complete school management system covering fees, payroll, library, stores, medical records, transport, gate pass, parent notifications, IPSAS finance, remedial lessons, staff leave, biometric integration and much more — all in one platform at an affordable price.
Can Shulebora handle KNEC exams?
Yes. Shulebora supports KNEC exam management including student registration exports for KPSEA (Grade 6), KJSEA (Grade 9) and KCSE (Form 3/Grade 12), results import after exams, and index number management for all students.
